Meetings

We hold regular lectures in Ampthill during the winter and spring, usually on the first Tuesday of the month in the Chapter House behind St Andrew’s Parish Church (entry through the church).

Meetings normally begin at 7:30pm and refreshments are available.

We also organise visits to museums, churches and country houses and walks in the locality.

Our current 2024-25 meeting programme includes:

  • 1st Oct 2024 – The Two Apothecaries
  • 5th Nov 2024 – Stars of the D’Oyly Carte
  • 3rd Dec 2024 – Christmas Bells, local bell towers and hand bells for us to play.
  • 4th Mar 2025 – James Gibb will talk on Rosebery House
  • 1st Apr 2025 – An evening on Ampthill Past Memories
  • 5th May 2025 – The Eric Houfe Memorial lecture 2025 – Pepys’ Navy

Talks are open to both members and non-members. A charge of £2 for members and £4 for non-members is made to defray costs.
