We hold regular talks in Ampthill during the winter and spring, usually on the first Tuesday of the month in the Chapter House behind St Andrew’s Parish Church (entry through the church).
Meetings normally begin at 7:30pm and refreshments are available.
We also organise visits to museums, churches and country houses and walks in the locality.
Our current 2025-26 meeting programme includes:
- Tuesday 7th Oct 2025 – Ampthill House and the Wingfield Family.
- Tuesday 4th Nov 2025 – Wrest Park, a World War 1 Hospital
- Tuesday 2nd Dec 2025 – The Annulment of Henry VIII Marriage to Katherine of Aragon
- Tuesday 3rd Mar 2026 – Building Whipsnade Zoo
- Tuesday 7th Apr 2026 – A Healthy Interest
- Tuesday 5th May 2026 – The Eric Houfe Memorial Lecture and AGM. Many Mansions –
- The Architectural Records of Sir Albert Richardson and Eric Houfe
Talks are open to both members and non-members. A charge of £6 for visitors is made to help defray costs. Talks are Free to Members.
